The Liberal Cup Public House and Brewery opened its doors in Hallowell in 2000. Since then, we’ve developed a following who truly appreciates our brews and food in a comfortable atmosphere. As the name suggests, we believe in quanity as well as quality. Whether it’s one of our standard 20oz pints or a heaping plate of Fish and Chips, we guarantee you won’t leave our pub thirsty or hungry.

Beer holds a special place in our hearts and minds; it’s our life mission to pour you the perfect pint. Throughout the year we produce 21 different ales and lagers, each one with a distinct character. We run the gamut from a Pilsner to a Cask-Conditioned Bitter to an Oatmeal Stout. You’ll have to drop in to see what’s on tap at any given time, because 115 Water Street is the only place in the world you’ll find our brews. As we like to say: “Brewed in Hallowell, Drunk in Hallowell”.

If for some silly reason your friends don’t drink beer, we also have a full wine and liquor selection. And because everyone likes to eat, we produce loads of fresh, home-made meals that appeal to all appetites.
